Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism regarding his team’s injury situation as they prepare for the preseason matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Speaking on 97.1 The Ticket on Wednesday morning, Campbell emphasized that he believes the team will be fine despite the absences of several key players.
Dan Campbell Gives Injury Update on Gibbs, Arnold, and Rakestraw
“I think we’re gonna be fine here. I think we’ll be good,” Campbell said during the interview. His comments come following injuries to players including Jahmyr Gibbs, Terrion Arnold, and Ennis Rakestraw, all of whom left practice early.
Campbell noted that cornerback Carlton Davis III is also dealing with a hamstring injury, while reports suggest Arnold’s pectoral injury won’t sideline him for the regular season. Gibbs, conversely, is facing a hamstring issue, heightening concerns about his availability.
Hendon Hooker Set to Return
Despite the injuries, Campbell indicated that quarterback Hendon Hooker may play in the upcoming game after recovering from a concussion suffered in the first preseason game. As a result of these setbacks, the Lions adjusted their practice plans, deviating from a planned scrimmage.
