The California High School Football Hall of Fame is set to welcome its class of 2024, featuring notable figures like Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh. Their induction is a testament to their significant contributions to high school football in California, as announced by the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation. This year’s event will honor 25 new inductees, encapsulating the spirit of high school football’s legacy in the Golden State.
Goff, a product of Marin Catholic High School, had an exemplary high school career where he set the Pac-12’s single-season passing record, amassing 3,692 yards and 40 touchdowns. His transition to the NFL saw him become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 Draft, and he has since earned Pro Bowl recognition, solidifying his status as a premier quarterback in the league.
On the other hand, Harbaugh’s acknowledgment is not just reserved for his professional coaching achievements. His journey started at Palo Alto High School and continued with a successful NFL career, including guiding the San Francisco 49ers to three consecutive NFC Championship games and recently winning a national title with the University of Michigan in 2023.
The ceremony will take place on November 30 before the Fresno State versus UCLA game, where the new inductees are celebrated for their impactful journeys—from high school to notable careers in football. This initiative not only honors past legends but also aims to promote the influence of high school football within California’s sports culture.
